Maine is a state filled with haunted houses and inns. There are stories that will make any spirit shudder when visiting this beautiful coastal state. Many of the inns are reportedly haunted by their owners. Those locations include the Captain Fairfield Inn, the Shawmut Inn, and the Captain Lindsey House Inn. Paranormal reports include slamming doors, shaking beds, and full-body apparitions. You can also make your way to Moosehead Lake to hear tap dancing and unexplained voices. There is also an unidentified woman who sometimes appears there. If you make your way to Millinocket, there is an apparition called the White Lady who you can see walking down the road at night. She reportedly continues to look for her husband after their automobile crash in 1950. Maine’s haunted houses tell stories that are just as bold and frightening as the legends of old.
